Though many people want nothing more than to travel around the world, most don't have the means. It may seem like just a pipe dream, but at The New York Times Travel Show globetrotters can get the experience of a lifetime without leaving the United States. The exhibition comes to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center March 2 through 4 and will surely be a weekend to remember.

After three days worth of touring one of the biggest travel shows around, you and your fellow denizens of the world will likely want to decompress, and there is no better way to do so than with a dinner cruise of New York Harbor. Your group can sit down and relax while you reflect on the convention all while enjoying a delicious dinner and taking in the beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline.

There are wide variety of highlights of the show but perhaps the most appealing aspect is that it offers attendees the opportunity to explore more than 500 destinations across the globe. The booths may give you a great idea for your next trip that you may not have otherwise thought of and the good news is that you can book the vacation right there on the spot.

In addition to opening your eyes to some new places, The New York Times Travel Show is also a great place to get some tips and tricks of the trade. There are a number of seminars planned throughout the weekend that may make your next vacation a bit easier and more enjoyable.

Although the Times has yet to unveil its list of seminars, if last year's are any indication the 2012 crop should be excellent. At the 2011 show one of the most popular event was the Travel Wiser with Bloggers panel, which featured five experienced travel writers offering up tips for those interested in the craft.

Of course, the show is much more than just a resource for you to plan your next getaway. There are an impressive six stages dedicated to celebrating the diverse cultures of the spots highlighted throughout the show.

Whether you have never been outside of the U.S. or have toured countries across the globe, everyone can learn a thing or two at The New York Times Travel Show and you'll be hard-pressed to find someone leaving unhappy.
