Water Conservation

Entertainment Cruises - Going Green

Three of our operations cruise on tributaries of the largest estuary in the United States, the Chesapeake Bay. Not to mention, our vessels in Chicago operate on a portion of the largest fresh surface water system on earth, comprised of the Great Lakes and their connecting channels. Entertainment Cruises is protecting these valuable resources by reevaluating our purchasing decisions and adhering to Coast Guard regulations to minimize our contribution to further contamination.

  • Water Efficient Dish Washing System: Each of our dishwashing machines are capable of being calibrated based on a report detailing our “guest to rack” ratio. This optimizes the number of racks washed, thereby helping us to reduce our water and chemical usage, and reducing our cost and environmental impact.
  • Reducing Water Pollution:We are committed to ensuring that materials are not tossed overboard. Guests are reminded by signage, announcements and the crew to refrain from contributing to pollution.
  • Eco-friendly Cleaning Products: We only use non-toxic biodegradable cleaners to wash the outer decks and exterior of each of our vessels and eco-friendly detergents in our dishwashers, to ensure no harsh chemicals are entering our waterways.
  • Using Raw Water for Toilets: Many of our vessels pull water directly from the sea to safely flush materials into our septic tanks. This reduces our use of potable water. Over large parts of the world, humans have inadequate access to potable water due to contamination and lack of infrastructure.
