Our vessels are becoming greener!
The Spirit of New York was the first vessel in the Entertainment Cruises' fleet to receive new environmentally friendlier diesel engines. The engines are classified as Tier 2 and contribute to the EPA's long-range plan of reducing diesel engine emissions.
Over the course of their lifetime, it is estimated these new engines will have a gentler impact on the environment with a potential to:
- Reduce Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) by 42.5 tons
- Reduce particulate matter by 2.6 tons
- Save 115,000 gallons of diesel fuel
The Inner Harbor Spirit in Baltimore recently installed the new Tier 2 Engines, and in the coming months the Spirit of Chicago and Mystic Blue will also install new "greener"' engines.
